How to Play Neo Geo Games on Your PC with NeoRageX 5.4
Neo Geo is a classic arcade system that was popular in Japan in the 90s. It had a 24-bit processor and a co-processor that made it capable of running some of the most impressive games of its time. If you want to relive the glory days of Neo Geo, you can use an emulator called NeoRageX 5.4, which is compatible with Windows and supports 186 ROMS.
In this article, I will show you how to download and install NeoRageX 5.4 and how to load and play your favorite Neo Geo games on your PC.
Step 1: Download NeoRageX 5.4 and ROMS
The first thing you need to do is to download the NeoRageX 5.4 emulator and the ROMS that you want to play. You can find them on various websites, such as GameTronik, Retrostic, or Player1. Make sure you download the correct version of the emulator and the ROMS that are compatible with it.
Alternatively, you can also download a complete pack of NeoRageX 5.4 and 186 ROMS from this link. This pack contains all the games that are supported by the emulator, including classics like Metal Slug, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and more.
Step 2: Extract NeoRageX 5.4 and ROMS
Once you have downloaded the emulator and the ROMS, you need to extract them using a program like WinRAR or 7-Zip. You can extract them to any folder you want, but I recommend creating a separate folder for them, such as C:\\NeoGeo.
After extracting them, you should see a folder called NeoRAGEx 5.4e inside your main folder. This is where the emulator is located. You should also see a folder called Roms inside your main folder. This is where you need to put your ROMS.
Copy and paste all the ROMS that you downloaded into the Roms folder. Make sure they have the .zip extension and do not unzip them.
Step 3: Run NeoRageX 5.4 and Load ROMS
Now that you have everything ready, you can run the emulator by double-clicking on the NeoRAGEx.exe file inside the NeoRAGEx 5.4e folder. You should see a window like this:
On the left side, you can see a list of all the ROMS that are available in your Roms folder. You can scroll through them using the arrow keys or the mouse wheel. On the right side, you can see a preview of the game that is currently selected.
To load a game, simply click on it or press Enter. The game will start running in full screen mode. You can press Esc to exit full screen mode or Alt+F4 to quit the game.
Step 4: Configure Controls and Options
If you want to change the controls or other options of the emulator, you can press F1 while in full screen mode or click on Options in windowed mode. You should see a menu like this:
