In this article, we will show you how to use Voxler v3.3.1843 to create a 3D model of a volcano using point cloud data. The point cloud data is from the Smithsonian Institution's Global Volcanism Program and represents the elevation of Mount St. Helens in Washington, USA, before and after the 1980 eruption.
The first step is to import the point cloud data into Voxler. You can do this by clicking on the File menu and selecting Import. Then, browse to the folder where you saved the point cloud data files and select them. You can import multiple files at once by holding down the Ctrl key while clicking on them. Click Open to import the files.
After importing the files, you will see them listed in the Network Manager window on the left side of the screen. The Network Manager shows the components of your model and how they are connected. You can rename, delete, or reorder the components by right-clicking on them and selecting the appropriate option from the menu.
The next step is to create a 3D scatter plot of the point cloud data. You can do this by right-clicking on one of the point cloud components and selecting Graphics Output > ScatterPlot from the menu. This will create a new component called ScatterPlot in the Network Manager and display it in the Viewer window on the right side of the screen. The Viewer window shows the 3D visualization of your model and allows you to interact with it using your mouse and keyboard.
You can repeat this step for each point cloud component to create multiple scatter plots. You can also change the color, size, shape, and transparency of the scatter plot points by double-clicking on the ScatterPlot component and adjusting the properties in the Property Manager window on the bottom right side of the screen.
The final step is to add a legend to your model. You can do this by clicking on the Insert menu and selecting Legend from the list. This will create a new component called Legend in the Network Manager and display it in the Viewer window. You can customize the legend by double-clicking on it and changing the properties in the Property Manager window.
Now you have a 3D model of a volcano using point cloud data in Voxler v3.3.1843. You can save your model by clicking on the File menu and selecting Save or Save As. You can also export your model to various formats by clicking on the File menu and selecting Export or Export Wizard. 061ffe29dd
