Sometimes we don't get to choose our destiny; our destiny chooses us. 9-11 was such a day. This September 11 in Madison, Wisconsin, I had the honor and joy to race an Ironman in the pouring rain from 7:30 am to almost midnight to honor the fallen heroes, their deeds, and who they are.
The Ironman race can be a long hard day. It helps to have a Mantra. Today my mantra is "Move Forward." Of course, it's cliché to say, "Just put one foot in front of the other." But that is not what I mean at all. My goal is always to move ahead in a positive direction where I am learning, growing, and leading a better life. When I started full-distance triathlons ten years ago, I had no idea where it would take me. Well, it has taken me to a great place in my life. This entire IronCEO shtick has transformed me physically, emotionally, and mentally into who I am today.
I am not sure where my finish line is. I am also not sure if I will do more ironman races. But I know that I will continue to move forward.
Thank you again for all your support and for allowing me to share my endurance life and my many musings with you.
